In Cody’s own Words during interview by Motorcycle Superstore
“This EnduroCross course was like the olden days of the sport. It was a brutal 15-lap main on a tough track. I nearly won the qualifying, but almost went over the bars, whiplashing myself and hurting my shoulder but had to put it behind me. I had a good start to the race and was patient before making a clean pass on Taddy. I pulled a comfortable lead and felt like I had what it took to get the win. Down the final stretch, I got hung up with some lappers and then went down in the woodpit right after that, handing the lead back to Taddy. I passed him back exiting the matrix, but my arms were so pumped I just barely held on.
“Taddy went on the inside of me in the rock corner and took out the leg I was planting to pivot and I went down again. From there it was survival to the finish where I had to hold off (Colton) Haaker for the second spot. Not the final result I wanted after riding so well all day, but my Beta two-stroke was running perfect all day and I felt like I had good speed before making a few mistakes. It’s all part of EnduroCross racing and I need to redeem myself in Denver.”
Webb and Blazusiak are tied for the lead with 94 points each. Colton Haaker is in third with 92.
